Good morning Sunnies ! Today isn’t a sunny day today but beautiful it is (it depends on how you see it héhé).

As you could see on my Instagram stories, yesterday I was invited at the launch of Season 8 of The Walking Dead (TWD). The event was organized by Be TV in collaboration with the White Cinema at Docks Bruxsel! Together with other (huge) fans of TWD I got the privilege to watch the first episode of Season 8 on a big screen, yeeeyyy! The event started at 1800. I could bring a guest but my guest had an urgent impediment and I didn’t find another person to come with me so I decided to go alone! I’m the person that don’t care about going alone to somewhere and in this case I had confirmed my presence so I had to go – by myself. :)

When I arrived, two scary (make up) kind ladies at the entrance welcomed me and explained me everything about the event. I got in, took my jacket off and started discovering the place. I had been to the white cinema (here and here are some pictures) but it was my first time entering the white cinema so imagine how curious I was hahaha. Anyway, got in, got a drink and a waiter asked me if I wanted to eat something (wraps). There were 3 activities: zombie make up, pumpkin decorating, and a sharebox photobooth. I did it all and it was fun!

The projection of the episode started at 2000 but first there was a TWDQuiz! 10 questions and the person that got a right answer won a present. And then, time to watch Rick and his team! The war has started and it looked that they are prepared to win the battle! As they say ”the future is ours!”. What happened in this episode is that Gabriel was way too kind to tryna safe an enemy and got himself in trouble/shitty pants … Argh can’t wait for the next episode! Are you a fan of TWD? Who is your fave TWD actor? For the moment, Negan is my fave. Even though he is an ass*, he is a very good actor, the way he plays his role…!? – damn goooood and sexy!  But Rick stays the best though, even with his grey hair hahaaha!

Thank you Be TV for the invitation, White Cinema for having me! I had a nice evening! #twdbetv

Bonjour mes Sunnies!

L'événement a commencé à 18 :00.

#twdbetv

Event by HISHI

tys1 1037x

As you know, last Saturday 14/10 in the morning I had a late surprise bday treat by my friends Anna and Hafsa! After that I had an event (that I had mentioned before, here) going on. Nine women influencers/entrepreneurs/bosses (name it all!) were invited at this event created by HISHI (Krystel and Sandra). I was one of them, *proud face*!
I came late at the event but just on time to tell my story. First of all, after the wellness and the dinner party at Anna’s, I didn’t really had enough time to do (finish) my make up so no comment about my face though hahaha. Cuz I see yall coming with your comments about my crazy looking face … =P

When I arrived a group of beautiful black women were standing in the ‘Espace Ochola’ listening to one of the guests that was telling her story. After that we had a little break. During the break(s) I’ve got the opportunity to meet the other guests and some of the people that came to the event. I was amazed and nervous at the same time! We took pictures with the whole team and I thank God to have given me a sister that is always there for me!!! She is really the best support you can imagine. She believes in me, my stuff and just aahhh, to have a familiar face there (there were others that I knew though, and I also thank you for your support, I love you!) was great because that gave me more strength and confidence to stand there…

After the break it was my turn. Krystel, one of the founders of HISHI introduced me. You might also need to know that Krystel and I were at the same school in college and that she, my twin sister and I share the same birthday hahaa :) Anyway, my timmmmeeeee. Again, I was nervous. That was my first time telling my story in real life, I mean live, in front of people, followers… The night before I had practices to not forget anything you guys need to know but being there nervous as ***; I talked in English and I was talking too fast, used a lot of “uhhmns” and did not tell everything I wanted to tell you hahaha (and I don’t know if most of the people understood much hahaah). But I didn’t get any questions so I guess it was fine?! When I looked back at the video that my sister filmed, I could see the things that I have to work on for later. I’m planning to do a video about ‘’my story’ for my YouTube Channel, where I can really tell you everything that I wanted to say on the event. But my sister and other people came complimenting me that for my first time it was good. I got to brighten up some of you with my positive happy attitude and I’m glad because that’s the only thing that mattered – empower others. Thank you soooooo much for being there, you are awesome!

Later on I had the opportunity to listen and learn from other powerful and inspiring women – AFRO INFLUENCERS such as Farida from Black Girls Diary (featured on my blog last year, check it out here), Johanna (Congo Travel/Tala Mosika), Elise (Be Proud asbl), Stephanie Stevens (Miss Africa Belgium 2017), Gloria (Tiny and brown) and Sandra Milem.

It was such a great event, we girls, ladies, women, mothers, … etc. needed it FOR REAL! Thank you HISHI for creating this!!! May you stay blessed, keep on having such great ideas to lift up black women out here and this all by the good grace of God! Thank you so much in every kind of way for having me at your event and I can’t wait for your other events and eventually to work with you in the near future! (And this time I will be on time hahaha, no joke!) :)

A late birthday gift

b1 1037x

So last weekend on Saturday 14/10 I had a crazy quite busy exciting day. First of all, I got to wake up very early because my friend Anna had organized a surprise wellness day for the 3 October babies aka godmothers (Cristina, Lia and I) of her son Alexander. Yes, I’m a godmother of cute baby boy. You can read all about this here.

Anyway, I had an amazing day at the wellness, verzorgingscentrum LEI Aalst. I had already been there with my other close friends Nikuze and Julie and I had always wanted to go back – best birthday gift ever! When we arrived, four baskets with a bathrobe and slippers were ready for us. Also tea and biscuits got served. It was so cozy! Because that was my second time going there I started comparing with the first time hahaha. And now ya’ll wanna know what my fave time was… :)

First we got a peeling and scrub of our feet. The hot water was just aaahhh-mazing! Then we got a massage: normal, hot stone – all our body! Even though I had a lot on my mind about the event I would have in the evening, I enjoyed it and fell asleep during the massage. Sweet hands, it was really good.
After that we had a little time for the sauna and the Jacuzzi. We chatted about us, life, happiness, men, love … ! Thanks again Anna for everything! :) :) :)

But that wasn’t aaaaalllll!!! Anna had also prepared a nice present at her home! For the ones that follow me on Snapchat (EyoSunny), you have seen it all! I was surprised. I knew that before going to my event I would have dinner (a very fast one!) at Annas and then leave. But when we arrived, HAFSA WAS THERE with her Polaroid camera and she was singing!!! What a surprise, I didn’t expect that, totally noooottt! It really made my day hahah! And how the room was decorated (autumn theme) and all! I even had my own birthday cake with EyoSunny on it – waawww! And that evening at the ‘Tell Your Story’ event I told the audience to be surrounded with GOOD PEOPLE! Well, I meanted it because my friends are the best! =)

Unfortunately I stayed way too long at my party (or not) and I came late at the event ... :/
But more about it in my next post :)

A Weekend Trip to London - Part 2

Eating and shopping in Oxford Street

l1 1037x

If you can't remember what Part 1 was all about, here you can read it.

So after our non-breakfast morning (at LFWF) we went to OXFORD STREET for some shopping, but first food! This was at NANDO’S of course (after a long 15min of walk as lost tourists and asking random people where it was…). Our first time eating there, we don’t really had any expectations. We just wanted to eat good food! Sandra had a chicken hamburger with fries and drank fanta, Alice had pita chicken, drank water and I got a ¼ chicken with rice and drank coke. My portion was ok (my plate (or better, our plates) looked very empty ahhaha) – the chicken was AMAZING!!! The best chicken I’ve eaten in a restaurant I think, no joke! Argh now thinking about it, I want to go back only for the chicken – A good cooked CHICKEN IS LIFE!!! We had a nice time there, chatting about LFWF and in which shops we absolutely wanted to go to…. Cozy! After lunch we went shopping, yeaayyh!

First stop was The Body Shop. So we entered, been welcomed by nice ladies in black, explaining the 20 for 3 promotion; £20 for 3 products. We bought some creams for our friends and customized our packages. It was fun! I took the creams almond, strawberry and olive for my mum and sisters.
After that we went to Forever 21. I think we got out of the store for like 2 long hours later haahaha - that store is very interesting! But guess what, I only bought a t-shirt!! A nice mustard yellow t-shirt! I’m so picky I know but right now I’m sadly thinking about that gorgeous black skirt I didn’t buy hahah!
We also went to candy land aka American Candy, where the shopkeepers wanted to strike a pose with me ahahaha (see pictures). Anyway, I ended up buying myself a very needed charging adaptor and then we met up with Lorraine (@lorraine_kang). Lorraine, Alice and Sandra were friends since a young age but her move to England didn’t separate them. We met at the Topshop store, where a cool thing was going on: the mannequins in the decor were real and cat walking! We need such great ideas in BE, it was fun to watch! :)

We sat in a pub for an hour (charging my phone haha) and then we decide to go eat something. Hungry girls that didn’t really knew what they wanted to eat, stepped randomly into an Lebanese/Iraqi restaurant 'Al Dar' and got a nice table for four! We got served by a man that was doing everything to get Lorraines attention and number hahaha! We really had a nice time! A lot of hard laughs, good food, fun and good vibes! =D
That was our last night there.

The next day we also had to wake up very early to go to church, that was 2 hours way too far from the Airbnb (East Croydon). But we managed to arrive there! The service was nice and I was really happy to go to church somewhere in London and meet Reverend Ruth again.

In the overal, that weekend just didn’t go all perfect (struggling with the uncharged phone, Oyster transport card, Google Maps…) but I loved traveling to London! London is a very beautiful city, I was amazed by the beautiful clean train stops … I would like to go back and I will definitely do! Wondering which city I’ll be visiting next! :)
